But again, it crashed and refused to load. So I verified the cache again, and a file was missing again. So I redownloaded it, but this time I immediately verified it again before starting up the game. Again, missing one file. So I removed all my mods, every single one, and verified. Missing one file. I've gone through multiple Steam reloads and restarts, and computer reloads and restarts, and every single time, missing one file, and Steam refuses to download it, even though it says that it downloaded it.
So today, finally, I completely removed the game. Uninstalled, all saves and logs removed. Then I reinstalled it, then verified the cache one last time. Sure enough, still missing one file. This is a known false postive confirmed by the MO2 Devs. You can fix this by adding an exemption for MO2 Folder to your Antivirus. An example for windows defender can be found here.
Head over to the installation folder and locate an executable named ModOrganizer. Once it's launched, there will be a dropdown box on the top right and a big run button next to it. If the image below comes up, simply press OK. It is nothing to be concerned about. Navigate to the Presets menu by pressing the symbol in the top left the three lines. You can then pick which ENB you wish to use. Organic ENB is custom tweaked for the list but can be heavier on lower end systems. Always back up your saves or start a new game after updating. Wabbajack will delete all files that are not part of the Modlist when updating! This means that any additional mods you have installed on top of the Modlist will be deleted.
Your downloads folder will not be touched! Updating is like installing. You only have to make sure that you select the same path and tick the overwrite existing Modlist button. Please do not expect the game to be functionally similar to vanilla. There are a lot of mods installed that modify core base game functionality as well as adding on new mechanics.
